Village Yoga About page

Philosophy

Village Yoga is a place where every student will feel welcome and knows that the teachers will do everything possible to help them achieve their individual goals. These goals may be:

•  Spiritual
•  Physical, such as gaining strength and flexibility
•  Healing, whether physical or emotional

We believe that everyone benefits from the practice of yoga, regardless of his or her age or abilities. Village Yoga is dedicated to providing a place and atmosphere for this to take place.

History of the Partnership

Lisa Broesamle and Judy McEvoy met in September of 2009 when Lisa’s daughter started Judy’s Pre-K class at the Magnolia Cooperative Preschool. Judy was looking for someone to assist her in her after school kid’s yoga classes. Lisa stepped forward. They were a team from the beginning and soon started talking about the possibilities of a yoga studio. This had long been a dream of Judy’s. The right location came up, so with the help and support of their husbands Carl McEvoy and Casey Broesamle, Village Yoga was born!

Our Magnolia Roots

Judy McEvoy has been a teacher at the Magnolia Cooperative Preschool in Seattle for over 30 years. During that time, Judy has educated and cared for many children, as well as their parents and caregivers. She will retire at the end of the 2010-2011 school year and focus on expanding her yoga business at Village Yoga. The Magnolia neighborhood has been blessed to have Judy involved with so many families in our close community, and will continue to be touched by her warm spirit and wisdom at Village Yoga.

Lisa Broesamle and her husband, Casey, moved to the Magnolia Village in 2002. Since then, they have started a family and made many close friendships. They enjoy spending their time participating in all the neighborhood activities.

Judy and Lisa both feel strongly about supporting local businesses and are proud to expand their business in the Magnolia Village.
